S1E2 | Saying Yes to God at 65 with Shelia Hoffman
Jun 01, 2026Sheila Hofmann’s story is a beautiful reminder that purpose doesn’t have an expiration date.
Sheila has walked closely with God for more than 60 years, and her love for Scripture has shaped every season of her life. Now in her 70s, she continues to live with a deep sense of purpose and a simple conviction: as long as God gives us breath, He is still at work in us and through us.
At 65, Sheila sensed God leading her to begin teaching middle school girls Scripture. It wasn’t something she had planned, and at first it didn’t necessarily make sense. But her willingness to say yes opened the door to growing small groups, new curriculum, and a ministry that continues to impact the next generation.
Sheila and I talk about what it looks like to keep following God through every season, even when the next assignment surprises us. Her story is a reminder that we don’t need the whole plan before we move forward. Sometimes we simply need the courage to say yes to the next step.
If you’ve ever wondered whether your most meaningful work may already be behind you, Sheila’s story will encourage you to think again.
Delight in Every Step is about encouraging women like us to keep moving, growing, and trying new things in our 50s and beyond. Each episode, I introduce you to a woman who is doing just that.
