Delona Tuggle’s story is about learning to trust God when the next step feels anything but secure.

After years in the corporate world, Delona began painting and restoring furniture on nights and weekends. What started as something she loved doing on the side eventually became an invitation to leave the security of a steady paycheck and build a business of her own.

That decision wasn’t easy.

Delona had spent years working hard to provide for herself and her daughters, so stepping away from dependable income brought plenty of fear and uncertainty. But through slow seasons, unexpected challenges, and moments when she wondered how everything would work out, she continued to see God provide.

Delona and I also talk about learning to recognize God’s voice, spending time in Scripture, surrounding ourselves with wise Christian community, and the difference between asking God to bless our plans and learning to align ourselves with His.

If you’re sensing that God may be inviting you toward something new—but the security of what you already know is hard to release—Delona’s story is a reminder that obedience often requires courage. We may not know how every step will work out, but we can learn to trust the One who does.

Delight in Every Step is about encouraging women like us to keep moving, growing, and trying new things in our 50s and beyond. Each episode, I introduce you to a woman who is doing just that.
